GCE (NA)/ N(T)-Level
You may register as a private candidate if you satisfy the minimum age requirement of 15 years as at 1^st January of the examination year.

GCE O-Level
You may register as a private candidate if you satisfy the minimum age requirement of 15 years as at 1^st January of the examination year.

GCE A-Level
You may register as a private candidate if you satisfy the minimum age requirement of 17 years as at 1^st January of the examination year.

While there is no minimum number of subjects that a private candidate can register for, there is a cap on the number of subjects that a private candidate can register in each sitting of the respective GCE-Level examinations as indicated below.

GCE N(A)/N(T)-Level
You may register up to a maximum of eight subjects for GCE N(A)/N(T)-Level Examinations. The list of subjects available for GCE N(A)/N(T)-Level private candidates are found on our website.

GCE O-Level
You may register up to a maximum of nine subjects for GCE O-Level Examinations. The list of subjects available for GCE O-Level private candidates are found on our website.

GCE A-Level
You may register up to a maximum of five H1 subjects and three H2 subjects, or three H1 subjects and four H2 subjects. You may wish to refer to the subjects available for A-Level private candidates on our website.

GCE O-level Subject Entry Requirements

Science with Practical paper:

If you are registering for a Science subject with a practical paper at O-Level, you must

(a) have sat the subject at O-Level previously, OR

(b) be currently attending or will be attending a course of instruction in Science practical at any institute/school.


GCE A-level Subject Entry Requirements

Science with Practical paper:

If you are registering for a Science subject with a practical paper at A-Level, you must

(a) have sat the subject at A-Level previously, OR

(b) be currently attending or will be attending a course of instruction in Science practical at any institute/school.

When registering for any science subject with a practical component, you will be required to declare at the point of registration (via internet registration system) that the above requirements are fulfilled. If a false declaration is made, your registration for the science subject with practical component is liable to be cancelled without refund of examination fees.

For Science subjects with practical component, the practical results cannot be carried over. You will need to sit the practical examination again.

Your registration is submitted if your registration status shows “Pending payment”. You can print your registration details for your reference.

You can make payment online (using internet banking, credit/debit cards) during registration period or choose to make offline payment. If you opt for offline payment, you have to make payment via Singpost counters or SAM before the payment deadline to complete your registration.

Please quote the reference number found in the Payment Advice Slip that is issued by the Internet Examination Registration System (iERS), when you are paying your examination fees through SAM or the SingPost counters.

Your registration will only be considered as successful when you have paid your examination fees. All successfully registered candidates will receive a Personalised Entry Proof/Timetables by mid-May for the Mid-Year Examination and/or June for the Year-End Examination via post.

Please write to us via our feedback form. In addition, please provide us the date and time you encountered the error and the details of the error  (E.g. The system is down halfway during your registration, one of the page is unresponsive etc).

Once you have registered for the examination, the payment details will be clearly stated in the Internet Examination Registration System (iERS) homepage and the registration slip.

You can make payment online (using internet banking, credit/debit cards) during registration period or choose to make offline payment at SingPost or SAM at a later date. If you chooses offline payment, you have to make your examination fees payment at any SingPost counters or SAM before the payment deadline.

You will receive a receipt once payment is successful. This serves to confirm your registration for the examination.

Please submit your appeal through our feedback form and provide reasons and the supporting documents if you have missed the registration deadline. Please note that a late registration fee may be applicable if the appeal is accepted.
