What are the changes to the Reminder Service?
Thank you for your interest in our Reminder Service. As a result of streamlining and simplifying the options, the following are the changes:
  • If you have opted for email reminders, you will receive daily email reminders for 5 days before the due date of an item on loan.
  • If you have opted for SMS and email reminders, you will also receive a one-time SMS reminder 5 days before the due date.
All reminder service subscribers will also continue to receive email and/or SMS reminders for overdue items 1 and 7 days after the due date has passed.

During the transition period in October, some of our patrons may not receive an email reminder every day, while some may receive an extra reminder, and we apologize for this inconvenience.

Why sign up for Reminders?
Sign up to receive reminders to easily manage your library account, return your books and other library materials on time, and avoid late charges and fees.

This also helps to make library materials available in a timely manner so that other customers can enjoy them.

Do I have to pay for Reminders?
No, email reminders are free. You just need to have a valid email address.  You can update your email address  through your myLibrary account via www.nlb.gov.sg or your Profile section in the NLB Mobile app.  We also would like to take this opportunity to inform you to keep your family’s and your email addresses updated so that you do not miss out on useful information about your account(s).

SMS reminders are also free but there may be charges depending on your mobile network provider.  You will also not receive an SMS reminder if your mobile phone is not within Singapore’s mobile network coverage.  If you travel occasionally, or if you wish to see full details of your outstanding items, we recommend email reminders.

How do I sign up for or opt out of Reminders?
You can sign up for reminders or opt-out of receiving reminders by selecting or deselecting the reminder options through your myLibrary account via www.nlb.gov.sg or at the borrowing stations at the libraries.  You can also do this via your Profile section in the NLB Mobile app.
