Sport can develop the attributes to compete in the evolving global conditions: a winning spirit, a respect for teamwork, a commitment to leadership and love of country. Vision 2030 was initiated in 2011 to enable sport to maintain Singapore's social integrity and economic strength. Vision 2030 is a joint project led by Sport Singapore (then known as Singapore Sports Council) and the then Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports with active participation from the public, people and private sectors. With engagement of more than 60,000 people from all walks of life, Vision 2030 lays out the blueprint to posit sport as a strategy for Singapore to meet the challenges in the coming two decades and for Singaporeans to live better through sports.
