What happens if a litigant does not attend a scheduled hearing?
A litigant who does not attend a scheduled hearing may be found to be in contempt of court and prosecuted. Such a litigant also runs the risk that adverse orders may be made against him in his / her absence.

What is a hearing in chambers? What matters may be heard in chambers?
A hearing in chambers is one which takes place in either a Judge’s or a Registrar’s chambers, and which is not open to members of the public. Interlocutory matters are usually heard in chambers.

All court hearings conducted in open court or in chambers are in English. Witnesses or litigants who do not speak English may apply to the court for
