SingPass
Mobile is a mode of two-factor authentication (2FA). It involves: 1. The app
that is in your mobile phone (what you have), and 2. Your
fingerprint (what you are), or 6-digit passcode (what you know)
To
protect your account, please be reminded to only register your own fingerprint
on your smartphone, and not to share your 6-digit passcode with other
individuals.
There
are also several layers of security measures in place. For example, when the
app detects potential security breach or presence of malicious software on your
mobile device, it will not allow you to use the app on that device.
|
8. |
SingPass Mobile can only be installed on one mobile device at a time. Activating SingPass Mobile on a new device will automatically deactivate the app on your previous device, ensuring that there is only one copy of your credentials. This grants a tighter level of security control and remains convenient for most SingPass users.
|
9. |
Upon downloading and setting up the SingPass Mobile app on your device, you will be issued a digital identity by the National Certification Authority (NCA). This is used as proof of your online identity whenever you transact with SingPass.
Your digital identity is represented by the authentication certificate issued to you. It comes with a unique serial number that can be seen in your SingPass Mobile app’s settings (under “Your digital identity details”).
|

For more
details, you may refer to the iOS instructional guide or Android instructional guide.
|
4. |
Your SingPass account contains sensitive personal information, and is intended as a means of verification and authentication of your identity online.
When using SingPass Mobile, you are reminded to only register your own fingerprint on your smartphone, and not to share your 6-digit passcode with
other individuals. This is to maintain the confidentiality, safekeeping and security of your SingPass account and the transactions conducted through it.
|
5. |
If you have not set up your 2FA, simply install the app and register for 2FA. A PIN mailer will be sent to your registered address within 5 working days. Follow the instructions in the PIN mailer to complete the app setup, and you’re done!
Note: All SingPass correspondence will be sent to your address registered with the Immigrations and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA).
|
6. |
If you are unable to set up SingPass Mobile using your existing 2FA modes, you can request for a PIN mailer to be sent to your mailing address that is registered with the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA).
To do so, - Download SingPass Mobile from the official app stores.

- At the screen prompting for an OTP, scroll down and click on the hyperlink in the sentence 'If you are not able to complete setting up SingPass Mobile with your existing 2FA, click here for alternative options.'
- 4. Select 'Mail a PIN to my address'.
A PIN mailer will be sent to your registered mailing address within 5 working days. International mail may take longer to arrive. Follow the instructions in the PIN mailer to complete the app setup, and you're done!
|
7. |
If you are new to SingPass, you can register for a SingPass account and set up your SingPass Mobile app by completing these steps:
1) Visit the SingPass website www.singpass.gov.sg > Select ‘Register for SingPass’. A PIN mailer will be sent to your registered mailing address within 5 working days. International mail may take longer to arrive. 2) Upon receiving your PIN mailer, download the SingPass Mobile app from App Store or Google Play Store. Launch the app and enter your SingPass ID (typically your NRIC/FIN) and the one-time SingPass password given in your PIN mailer. 3) Follow the on-screen instructions to create your new SingPass password, followed by your SingPass Mobile 6-digit passcode. You may also enable Touch ID or fingerprint authentication for easier login.
|
8. |
Log in to your
SingPass account at www.singpass.gov.sg
> Select ‘My Account’ > ‘Manage 2FA’ > ‘SingPass Mobile’ as your preferred mode of verification.
|
9. |
|
10. |
The SingPass Mobile app currently works as an
authenticator. It is only triggered when you are logging in to a digital service.
You will then be prompted to verify yourself using your fingerprint or a passcode.
|
11. |
We have implemented stringent security measures in the app to better protect your SingPass account and personal data. 1. If your phone has been rooted/jailbroken, please use another device. 2. If your phone contains apps that alter the phone settings (e.g. screen capturing or fake GPS apps), please uninstall them before setting up SingPass Mobile. 3. If the above two scenarios do not apply to you, please contact the SingPass Helpdesk at support@singpass.gov.sg.
|
12. |
The SingPass Mobile app requires your "Device ID" to tie your device to your SingPass account as part of the verification process during logins. It is a common requirement for apps to request for certain permissions so as to facilitate transactions. Please be assured that the app does not access, read or store any of your personal files.
|
Setting up SingPass Mobile with Face Verification |
1. |
SingPass Face Verification is a two-factor authentication (2FA) method that lets you prove your identity by scanning your face using the camera on your device. The captured face scan is verified against the Government biometric database to confirm your identity during transactions.
|
2. |
In addition to the current 2FA modes of SMS one-time password (OTP) and OneKey token, users can now use Face Verification to prove their identities when setting up their SingPass Mobile app. This is particularly useful for users based overseas or those who have yet to register for 2FA, as they do not have to wait for a PIN mailer to arrive at their registered mailing address before setting up SingPass Mobile.
|
3. |
To set up SingPass Mobile app using Face Verification:
1) Launch your SingPass Mobile app and begin the setup process 2) Enter your SingPass ID and password 3) When prompted for your 2FA, select “Face Verification” (the default may be set to SMS-OTP or OneKey Token, depending on what was previously used) 4) Follow the on-screen instructions and guidelines 5) Tap on “Begin Scan” to consent to the retrieval of your data for face verification 6) Ensure you are in a well-lit place, then face your device’s camera, align your face to the position guide and hold still for the camera to detect and scan your face Note: When scanning, there will be flashes of coloured lights that are used to detect the user’s physical presence. Please use other available authentication methods if you are sensitive to flashing lights. 7) Your face scan is analysed to prevent fraudulent use of images, videos or 3D masks 8) Your identity is verified and you can proceed to complete the app setup
|
4. |
To protect your personal data - The face scans, tagged with anonymised identifiers, will be encrypted and protected with tamper-evident logging. Besides data encryption, additional measures are put in place to ensure that your personal data is protected.
To safeguard against impersonation - The Face Verification process has safeguards put in place to protect against impersonation fraud, such as the application of liveliness detection technology, that is able to detect the use a photograph, video or mask during the verification process.
|
5. |
There are stringent security measures in place to protect our users’ personal information. For example, face scans will be encrypted and tagged with anonymised identifiers. All uploaded data will be accessed and handled securely by the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), as stipulated under the Public Sector Governance Act (PSGA).
|
6. |
Yes. You may continue to use other available authentication methods, such as the SMS-OTP or PIN mailer at your registered mailing address, or OTP generated by your OneKey token, to set up your SingPass Mobile app.
|
Overseas Users |
1. |
With SingPass
Mobile, overseas users no longer need to wait for SMS One-Time Passwords (OTPs)
to come through, or worry about losing their OneKey Token. They can just use
their mobile phone to log in to digital services with their fingerprint or
6-digit passcode.
|
2. |
1) Download SingPass Mobile from the official app stores. Check that the app developer is “Government Technology Agency”.
2) Open the app and complete a one-time setup. You will need to verify your identity using an OTP sent via SMS, or generated by a OneKey Token, to activate the app.
For more details, you may refer to the iOS instructional guide or Android instructional guide.
|
3. |
If you
have not set up your 2FA, simply install the app and register for 2FA. A PIN
mailer will be sent to your registered mailing address within 10 working days
(subject to overseas postal delays). Follow the instructions in the PIN mailer
to complete the app setup, and you’re done!
Note:
All SingPass correspondence will be sent to your mailing address registered
with the Immigrations and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA).
|
4. |
- Launch the app and log in with your SingPass ID and Password.
- At the screen prompting for an OTP, scroll down and click on the hyperlink in the sentence 'If you are not able to complete setting up SingPass Mobile with your existing 2FA, click here for alternative options.'

No, you can
only use SingPass Mobile’s QR code scanner to log in. This is one of the
security measures in place to better protect your SingPass account and personal
information.
|
4. |
To ensure security, you should use only the SingPass Mobile app (and not other QR code scanners) to scan the SingPass QR code when accessing services. SingPass Mobile has stringent security measures in place and will always check for the QR code’s legitimacy and validity before you can proceed to complete the authentication.
When logging in to a service using SingPass Mobile, you should also check that the website URL stated on the confirmation page on the app matches that in the web browser address bar.
These best practices help to prevent phishing of personal information through QR code spoofing.
|
5. |

About MyInfo Profile |
1. |
MyInfo is a service that allows SingPass users to manage their personal data and pre-fill forms in digital service transactions. This includes government-verified data that is retrieved across participating Government agencies. Users only need to sign in to their SingPass accounts to provide personal data to the Government once, instead of repeatedly filling out form fields for every online transaction.
|
2. |
The integration of MyInfo in the SingPass Mobile app lets you view your government-verified data, such as passport/driver’s licence expiry date, CPF contribution history and HDB property information, directly in the app.
|
3. |
Step 1: Launch SingPass Mobile and select ‘View MyInfo profile’.
Step 2: Verify your identity using your fingerprint, face recognition (for selected smartphones) or 6-digit passcode to gain access to your data.
Step 3: Your profile will be updated and displayed in the app. To customise the data displayed according to your preference, access the settings menu on the top right corner. Sensitive data such as your CPF details are kept hidden upon display by default. To view these data, tap ‘Show’ on the top right corner of the hidden section.
Note: You need to verify your identity each time you access your MyInfo Profile.
|
4. |
Different government agencies are responsible for verifying the information in MyInfo. Please contact the relevant agency to make changes. You can view the list of source agencies on the MyInfo portal. Please note that it will normally take 1 to 3 working days for your MyInfo Profile to reflect the updated data after verification by the relevant agency.
|
5. |
To view personal data in the app, you must first verify your identity using your fingerprint, face recognition (for selected smartphones) or 6-digit passcode.
For your personal data safety, make sure only you have access to your SingPass Mobile app on your phone and never share passcodes with others. Avoid setting up multiple biometric profiles (i.e. saving someone else’s fingerprint or face profile) on your phone.
|
6. |
You are required to verify your identity to activate MyInfo Profile and view your personal data in the SingPass Mobile app. When the displayed data is left inactive for some time, you will be automatically logged out. This will help prevent any unauthorised access to the data.
|
7. |
Your personal data is safeguarded through encryption technology in the SingPass Mobile app. Malicious apps would not have access to the data.
As an added security measure, you will be prompted to quit the app immediately if the app detects potential security breach or presence of malicious software on your mobile device.
|
About Login Shortcuts |
1. |
Login Shortcuts offer one-stop direct access to commonly-used digital services straight from the SingPass Mobile app, for easier transactions.
You can access these digital services using Login Shortcuts: - CPF e-services - My HDBPage - NS Portal - MyCareersFuture.sg - OneMotoring

|
2. |
Step 1: Launch SingPass Mobile and select the digital service you want to access.
Step 2: Confirm your login request.
Step 3: Verify your identity using your fingerprint, face recognition (for selected smartphones) or 6-digit passcode.

To protect your account, remember to log out of the digital service in your internet browser when your transaction is completed.
Note:
Returning to SingPass Mobile does not automatically log you out of the digital service in your internet browser.
|
3. |
If you forget to log out of a digital service from your internet browser, you will automatically be logged out of the digital service after a period of inactivity.
However, it is good to remember to always log out of the digital service directly from the internet browser once the transaction is completed.
|
4. |
For Android devices Login shortcuts are compatible with Chrome.
For iOS devices The mobile internet browser that launches when you access a service via Login Shortcut depends on your default mobile browser. For instance, if you have set up Chrome as your default mobile browser, the digital service will launch in the Chrome browser when you tap on the Login Shortcut. This applies to any third-party browser apps, e.g. Firefox and Edge.

About Proving Identity to Businesses |
1. |

1. Launch your SingPass Mobile app. 2. Scan the SingPass QR code displayed at the counter. 3. Verify your identity using your fingerprint, face recognition or 6-digit passcode. 4. Check the data that needs to be shared and give your consent. 5. Your data will be sent across securely, and you’re done!

|
3. |
Yes, internet connection or mobile data is required to encrypt and transfer data when you use SingPass Mobile to transact.
|
4. |
We have stringent security measures in place to safeguard your personal data. For example, when you use SingPass Mobile to scan the QR code at the counter, the app will check for the legitimacy of the QR code before requesting for your consent to share the required data with the business/government agency. The data will be encrypted and sent securely to the business/government agency.
|
5. |
The Government will only issue the SingPass QR code to businesses/government agencies which have on-boarded SingPass Mobile to verify the identity of their customers in-person. The SingPass QR code is unique to each business/government agency, and it can only request for a set of data, pre-approved by the Government, to be collected for verification purposes.
|
6. |
Users are strongly encouraged to use their SingPass Mobile app to scan the QR code displayed by businesses. When you use SingPass Mobile to scan the QR code at the counter, the app will check the legitimacy of the QR code before asking for consent to share the required data with the business/government agency.
You may see an error message on the SingPass Mobile app if it is an invalid QR code, and you will not be able to proceed.
|
7. |
SingPass Mobile is an alternative option for you to prove your identity to businesses at selected locations. It does not replace the use of your NRIC or FIN card.
|
8. |
This is a trial feature, and users will be able to see their transaction history in a later version of the app. In the meantime, you may contact the SingPass Helpdesk at support@singpass.gov.sg if you need clarification on your transaction history.
|
9. |
SingPass Mobile offers a convenient and secure way to verify your identity using just your mobile phone. Citizens may choose whichever option suits them best, based on their needs and preferences.

|
About Digital IC |
1. |
The Digital IC is a feature in your SingPass Mobile app that displays your name, NRIC number/FIN and photo. You can tap on the eye icon to unmask the NRIC number/FIN, and tap on the barcode icon to scan your NRIC/FIN barcode at kiosks, such as those at libraries and polyclinics.
|
2. |
To view your Digital IC, all you need to do is:
Launch the SingPass Mobile app, Select the ‘Profile’ tab, Verify yourself using your fingerprint, face or 6-digit passcode. You will then see your Digital IC on the screen.
You can also tap on the barcode icon and scan your NRIC/FIN barcode at kiosks, such as those at libraries and polyclinics.
|
3. |
You can use Digital IC when a business or government agency needs to prove your identity or collect your information, such as name and NRIC number (in compliance with PDPA). For example, you can tap on the barcode icon and scan your NRIC/FIN barcode at kiosks, such as those at libraries and polyclinics.
To ensure security, you will need to verify yourself (using your face, fingerprint or passcode) each time you access your Digital IC.
|
4. |
The Digital IC is a feature in your SingPass Mobile app that displays your name, NRIC number/FIN and photo. You can choose to use the Digital IC in place of your physical NRIC/long-term pass card, as long as the business or government agency accepts the use of it. You may be required to produce your physical NRIC/long-term pass card, if required by law (e.g. at polling stations for elections), or if the agency or business requires it for specific transactions.
If you lose your NRIC/long-term pass card issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), you must report the loss and apply for a new card within 14 days for the NRIC and 7 days for the long-term pass card.
|
5. |
No, you are not required to have or bring around the Digital IC. You may still produce your physical NRIC or long-term pass card to prove your identity. Businesses should still accept the physical NRIC or long-term pass card and not insist only on the Digital IC.
|
6. |
The Digital IC has an animated lion crest overlay at the corner of the user’s photo with a holographic effect to prevent image tampering and screenshot spoofing.
On Android devices, the animation continuously changes colour. On iOS devices, the animation relies on the device’s gyroscopic sensor, and continuously changes colour when the device is moved. The animation is hidden if a person attempts to capture a video recording of the Digital IC.
Agencies and businesses should look out for the animated lion crest overlay to ascertain that the Digital IC screen is legitimate and not a captured image or video.
|
7. |
If you have recently renewed your NRIC / passport / work pass with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) / Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), you may not see your updated photo on your Digital IC immediately. Processing time is required for the updated photo to be reflected in your SingPass Mobile app.
|
8. |
For secured face-to-face identity verification, businesses are encouraged to use SingPass’ Verify API. Customers can use their SingPass Mobile app to scan a QR code displayed by your company and consent to share the necessary personal information with your company. Businesses can visit go.gov.sg/ndi-api to find out more.

You may request for a signing certificate from the National Certification Authority (NCA) for the purposes of digitally signing agreements or authorising transactions. This certificate cryptographically binds your identity to information that will be used to verify your digital signature. The signing certificate contains information that is a means of identifying you to the digital service.

No. You will not be able to digitally sign the document if the signing certificate is unavailable. If you are facing any technical issues, please contact support@singpass.gov.sg for assistance.

Digital signatures require the use of cryptography to generate a dynamic signature that is the cryptographic result of the credential and electronic record (document). If the electronic record or identity is compromised, the system will highlight to the user that the signature is invalid. Subsequent changes to the signed document are detectable and credentials are uniquely linked and identifiable to the signers.

Sign adopts cybersecurity measures in line with industry best practices, including a combination of encryption and multi-layered security. IT security measures are also reviewed and updated on a regular basis to better safeguard the digital signing process.
During the signing process, no document data will be transferred between the digital signing partner / business partner's platform and the national digital identity platform. Only a cryptographically random, unintelligible and irreversible code representing the signed document will be transferred during the transaction.

About Location Matching Self-Check |
1. |
The Location Matching Self-Check is a service that helps members of the public recall if they had been at the locations visited by COVID-19 cases during the specified timings. This is done by providing individuals with their SafeEntry records that matched the timings of visits by COVID-19 cases. The service is available on the SingPass Mobile app’s homepage as a status banner under the Resource Hub. Green banner: You have not been to places visited by Covid-19 cases. Red banner: Your SafeEntry records match the timings of visits by COVID-19 cases.
If you have been at the locations visited by COVID-19 cases, please monitor your health closely for 14 days from the date of the visit. You should see a doctor promptly if you develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat, and runny nose), fever and loss of sense of taste or smell. Do inform your doctor of this potential exposure.
|
2. |
Among your SafeEntry records, only those that match with the locations visited by COVID-19 cases will be provided to you through the Location Matching Self-Check service. As there is minimal risk through transient contact of less than 5 minutes, this service will apply to individuals with a minimum overlap of 5 minutes with the COVID-19 cases.
|
3. |
Tap on the red banner to see the list of locations, and the date and time of check-ins and check-outs, where your visits have matched visits from COVID-19 cases.
