How do I set up SMS 2FA?
If you are a new Singpass user, please register your mobile number with Singpass upon your first login to activate your SMS 2FA instantly.
If you are an existing Singpass user, you can log into your account at the
Singpass Portal
> Select the '
Set Up 2FA
' icon on the scroll bar. A PIN mailer will then be sent to your address within 5 working days for activation.
Alternatively you may follow these steps:
1. Log into Singpass using Face Verification
2. Select '
Set up 2FA
' icon
3. Select '
Register SMS 2FA
'
4. Enter and verify your mobile number
If you need on-site assistance, you can visit any
Singpass counters
in-person with your original NRIC/FIN card and mobile phone to set up SMS 2FA.

I have only set up my OneKey Token previously. How can I set up my SMS 2FA now?
To set up SMS 2FA:
1. Log into Singpass using Face Verification
2. Select 'Set up 2FA' icon
3. Select 'Register SMS 2FA'
4. Enter and verify your mobile number

The system indicates that 'the One-Time Password (OTP) has expired'. What should I do?
If you did not receive your One-Time Password (OTP) within one minute, select '
Resend OTP
' to request a new OTP.

I am relocating overseas. Can I use my overseas mobile number for Singpass SMS 2FA?
Only Singapore-registered mobile numbers can be used to register for SMS 2FA. If you are travelling or living overseas, please use the Singpass app or Face Verification as 2FA instead to access government digital services.

I did not receive a One-Time Password after multiple requests. What should I do?
Please try again after 5 minutes, as the mobile network may be congested. If you are still unable to receive One-Time Passwords, please contact Singpass Helpdesk at
support@singpass.gov.sg
or +65 6643 0555.

I am travelling overseas and will be using a Singapore mobile number. Can I still use my Singpass SMS 2FA?
Yes. If you are using your Singapore-registered mobile number overseas, you should be able to use SMS 2FA and receive notifications.
Note:
There may be a lag time in receiving One-Time Passwords via SMS.

I do not have a Singapore-registered mobile number. Can I set up SMS 2FA using an overseas mobile number?
Only Singapore-registered mobile numbers can be used to register for SMS 2FA. If you are travelling or living overseas, please use Singpass app or Face Verification instead as 2FA instead to access government digital services.
8.
Can I set up SMS 2FA only?
You can choose to set up SMS 2FA, Singpass app, or use Face Verification which does not require additional setup.
