Appeals against Enforcement
1. |
SFA will generally process appeals within 15 working days. Therefore, please wait for the outcome of your appeal and do not make payment of the composition yet.
|
2. |
You do not need to attend Court if you have made an appeal (exceptions would be for cases already heard in court and you are required by the magistrate to return to court on a required date and time). However, please submit your appeal early (for example two to three weeks after receipt of the Notice of Composition/ Summons) and not on the day of the court mention itself.
|
3. |
Composition must be paid in a single sum and cannot be paid in installments.
|
4. |
Rectification measures are necessary to prevent a recurrence and improve food safety. This, an and of itself, does not warrant a withdrawal of the Summons or Composition.
|
5. |
SFA will review each appeal for a withdrawal of Summons or a waiver of Composition on the merits of the case. If financial grounds is cited as a reason for withdrawal or waiver, please produce supporting documents.
