Both scholarships allow you to pursue engineering or related courses. The main differences between a PSC Scholarship and a PSC Scholarship (Engineering) are in the career pathway. The PSC Scholarship (Engineering) is catered to students with a clear interest for a specialised engineering careers in the Public Service. During your studies, you will be offered developmental programmes from both the PSC and your engineering parent agency, including internship opportunities. You will also receive close mentorship, including guidance on your career development. After you return from your studies, you will be posted to your parent agency to build your foundational expertise. The PSC Scholarship (Engineering) develops and grooms individuals for leadership positions in the engineering and technology sectors in the Public Service by allowing you to deepen your engineering skills early in your career in the Public Service. What this means is that if you are keen to specialise in these engineering fields, this scholarship offers you opportunities to work in public agencies whose core of business lies in engineering, such as DSTA, GovTech, and other agencies where we have need of leaders with engineering expertise. In comparison, the PSC Scholarship builds public governance skills such as in public policy formulation and implementation in the early part of your career, laying the foundation before you are developed either as a generalist leader or specialist leader in the Central Administration, Economic Building, Social, Infrastructure and Environment, or Security sectors later on.
