How to apply for a canteen stall?
Vacancy of canteen stalls is usually published on MOE School Canteen website:
An applicant may:
Request for the application form to be sent to him/her over the phone (DID: 6872 2220)
Collect the form from Customer Service Centre, Ministry of Education, North Buona Vista Drive, Singapore 138675. Tel: 6872 2220 or Fax: 6775 5826

What is the main criterion for the selection of a canteen stallholder?
Able to provide food and drinks that meet the health/nutritional standards set by Health Promotion Board
Able to provide good service and qualtiy food at reasonable prices
Able to observe a high standard of personal and food hygiene.
What is the selection process for school canteen stall applicants?
The Canteen Selection Committee will evaluate the applications received and select the most suitable candidate that meets the criteria.
All applicants will be informed by the school of their application outcomes. Only shortlisted candidates will be interviewed.
Successful candidates will have to register and pass the
Basic Food Hygiene course
and apply for a Food Stall license from the
National Environment Agency (NEA)
Is financial hardship the main criterion?
While financial hardship cases will be given due consideration, the primary consideration is the suitability and ability of the applicants.
Will applications be considered on a first-come-first serve basis?
No. Only the most suitable candidates who can meet the selection criteria will be considered.
What are the rates of rental for a canteen stall?
Monthly rental for a canteen stall ranges from $5 to $15 depending on the school population.
When will the applicants be informed of the outcome of their application?
The school concerned will inform applicants on the outcome of their applications.
Can the applicant have a choice of the type of stall that he would like to operate?
can indicate their choice on the application form.

Where to submit the applicant form?
Applications to new schools can be sent by post or handed in to:

Applications to existing schools are to be submitted directly to the relevant schools.
Who is the approving authority on the appointment of stallholders?
The School Canteen Committee will decide on the selection of stallholders.
Can an application be made for a canteen stall at ITE / Polytechnics through MOE?
Applications for a canteen stall at ITE / Polytechnics should be made to the institutions directly.
What is the validity period of the Canteen Agreement?
The canteen agreement is valid for 1 year or 2 years. The agreement may be renewed subject to the decision of the Canteen Committee.
