What type of disputes can I submit?
|

e@dr is for disputes which arise directly or indirectly out of e-commerce transactions. This includes disputes on the sale of goods and provision of services, as well as disputes on intellectual property rights and domain names. Who can use e@dr? Anyone, whether an individual, a company, organisation, or business, can use e@dr. You can use this service whether you are legally represented or otherwise. Both the complainant and the respondent must have e-mail addresses.

What is e@dr?
|
|
e@dr is an electronic dispute resolution process offered by the Subordinate Courts in partnership with the Ministry of Law, the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Trade Development Board and the Economic Development Board. e@dr seeks to leverage on the use of technology to help resolve disputes.

What costs or fees do I have to pay?
|
|
It costs nothing to register your complaint with us. Similarly, if the matter is dealt by a judge-mediator or court mediator, it will be free. However, if the matter is referred to the Small Claims Tribunal, SMC or SIAC, or where an independent expert is appointed, it will be subject to the usual charges imposed by them.

How do I use e@dr?
|
|
All you have to do is submit a dispute to the e@dr website by completing a Request for Mediation form. An e-mail will then be sent to the Respondent for his response. The complaint and response are then referred to a moderator. Depending on the quantum involved and the complexity of the matter, it will be referred either to the judge-mediator at CDRI, or channeled to the Small Claims Tribunal, SMC or SIAC. This is subject to the parties' agreement.
