1.	Can I check the status of my demerit points?
	With effect from 7 June 2004 , Singaporeans and Permanent Residents (PRs) can check their demerit points under the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS) by assessing the Electronic Driver Data and Enquiry System (EDDIES). EDDIES can be accessed by logging on to the eCitizen website. Once you are at the eCitizen website, select Transport -> Driving in Singapore -> E-Transaction -> Electronic Driver Data Information & Enquiry System. EDDIES can also be accessed through the Electronic Police Centre in the Singapore Police Force website. Alternatively, you may access EDDIES directly at this link. Traffic Police will also remind motorists of their current status of demerit points under the following circumstances: If you have accumulated 12 or more demerit points and your licence has never been suspended before, you will receive a notice listing out all the offences and demerit points you have accumulated from Traffic Police. If you have previous suspension record, you will be given a notice once you have accumulated 6 demerit points. This notice serves as a warning and also to remind you on your demerit points position. back to top


2.	What is the basic salary if I join the Police Force as a Police Officer?

4.	If I've not served my National Service, can I apply?
	Yes, you can. SPF will have to check with Central Manpower Base (CMPB) prior to your appointment for approval to release you from full-time National Service enlistment. All male Singaporeans/ Singapore Permanent Residents who have not completed full-time national service must serve a minimum term of 5 years (known as Minimum Term of Engagement, MTE) as a regular officer so as to fulfil your full-time National Service obligation. back to top


5.	What is a Suspicious Transaction Report (STR)?
	An STR is made when a person knows or has reason to suspect that any property is directly or indirectly connected to criminal conduct, and suspicion is aroused during the course of the person's trade, profession, business or employment. The "transaction" usually refers to that of a financial nature. Such reports are lodged with the Suspicious Transaction Reporting Office (STRO) of the Commercial Affairs Department. back to top
