What is the Singapore iPSLE?
|
|
The Singapore iPSLE is an international version of the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) taken by pupils in Singapore at the end of 6 years of education in a primary school. The iPSLE will be conducted in August each year and the results will be released in November of the same year.
The iPSLE is intended for pupils in overseas schools that adopt a curriculum similar to the Singapore school curriculum. It serves to certify their academic attainment at the end of primary school education.

How will pupils' performance be reported?
|
|
Pupils' performance will be reported in the form of grades, from A* (highest grade), A, B, C, D, E (lowest grade). The overall performance of a pupil is reported in terms of an Aggregate Score. This aggregate score is derived from the T-scores (i.e. Transformed Scores) in all the subjects sat, which must include the three subjects - English Language, Mathematics and Science.

What are the subjects available?
|
|
Six subjects are available. They are English Language (EL), Mathematics (MA), Science (SC), Chinese Language (CL), Malay Language (ML) and Tamil Language (TL). Pupils may sit for a maximum of 4 subjects. However, pupils who intend to seek admission to secondary schools in Singapore are strongly encouraged to take four subjects, namely, English Language, Mathematics, Science and one of the Mother Tongue Languages, i.e. CL, ML or TL.

How do I register for the iPSLE?
|
|
Pupils may register for the iPSLE with overseas examination centres approved by the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board. The overseas approved centres are:
1. Nasional High Junior Senior School, Jakarta, a member of Piaget Academy
2. Singapore National Academy, Surabaya, a member of Piaget Academy
3. Singapore Piaget Academy, Medan, a member of Piaget Academy
4. Singapore Piaget Academy, Solo Raya, a member of Piaget Academy
5. UniWorld International School, Hanoi, a member of KinderWorld Group
6. Shanghai Singapore International School, Shanghai
7. Singapore International School of Bangkok, Bangkok
8. St. Gabriel's College, Bangkok
9. Mandalay Chan Thar Academy, a member of RV! Centre International
10. RV Centre Yangon, a member of RV! Centre International
11. Singapore International School @ Saigon South, a member of KinderWorld Group
12. RV! Academy, Hanoi, a member of RV! Centre International
Pupils are not permitted to register for the iPSLE and the Singapore PSLE (conducted in October) in the same year.
Those found to have done so will have their iPSLE registration cancelled and no refunds will be made.
If a candidate had sat for both the PSLE and iPSLE in the same year, the results of the iPSLE will be nullified and no appeals will be entertained.

Age Requirement
|
|
There is no age requirement. However, pupils intending to seek admission to Secondary One in Singapore secondary schools must be at least 12 years old on 1st January of the year of admission and completed the equivalent of primary six education.
