We will certainly work towards providing better services in all areas, including the timing of the release of examination results.

How will SEAB set the standards for examinations?
There is no change to present procedures as far as national examinations are concerned. SEAB will continue to develop reliable and valid instruments and ensure that the award of qualifications is based on accurate assessment and rigorous standards.

Who will be awarding national examination certificates?
The certificates for existing GCE examinations will remain as Singapore-Cambridge GCE certificates.

Why was SEAB set up?
As a statutory board, SEAB will be a provider of quality examinations and assessment services. With its greater operational flexibility and enhanced responsiveness, SEAB can build up its operational capacity to better respond to curricular changes when developing national examinations. In the longer term, the statutory board aims to position itself as a regional hub for testing and assessments services, and help contribute towards developing Singapore as an education hub.
