In the General Education programme, how many subjects must I take to get a 'full' certificate for the GCE 'N' or 'O' levels?
Students will be issued a certificate for each sitting of the GCE 'N' or 'O' level subject(s), and there is no 'full' certificate requirement.
What courses are available in the General Education Programme?
The General Education Programme offers part-time courses from S1N to S5N. Subjects include English Language, Mathematics, Science, Principles of Accounts, History, Geography, Literature etc. These courses are suitable for adult learners who seek to upgrade their qualifications up to the GCE 'N' or 'O' levels for skills upgrading and career opportunities. Courses are typically conducted from February/March to September/October, with lessons held once a week per subject.
What qualifications must I have to apply for a General Education course?
To attend a course, especially for languages, Mathematics and Science, a pass at the previous level is required. Educational documents showing the highest academic level passed are required for admission purposes. Please check the
requirement prior to registration.
Who are eligible for the General Education programme?
Applicants must be at least 16 years old, and are Singapore Citizen, Permanent Resident or Non-citizen with a Work Pass or Dependant Pass.
In the General Education programme, what certificates will I get after I complete a course?
If you have attended the examinations conducted by ITE at the end of course (Sec 1N to Sec 3N), you will receive a Statement of Results. If you have attained at least 75% attendance and wish to obtain a Statement of Attendance, you may request it from the CET Supervisor within a year from the completion of course.
