Application & Acceptance
1.	What is the Technical Engineer Diploma (TED) course about?
	The TED in Machine Technology course is offered by ITE in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth & Sports, Baden-Wurttemberg (MEYS/BW), Germany. The course comprises 2 years of ITE full-time institutional training and 1.5 years of work experience acquired before or after the institutional training. Students will be trained in the area of machine/equipment design & building, including making, assembly, testing and commissioning. back to top


2.	Where is the TED course conducted?
	The Technical Engineer Diploma in Machine Technology course is conducted at ITE College West at Balestier Campus and Dover Campus. back to top

Entry Requirements
1.	What are the entry requirements for TED course?
	Graduates/graduating full-time students in Higher Nitec in Mechanical Engineering or Higher Nitec in Mechatronics Engineering with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and Nitec in Precision Engineering with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, are eligible to apply for the TED in Machine Technology course. Shortlisted applicants have to attend an interview before the final selection back to top

1.	Is there any age limit for the TED course?
	There is generally no age limit for the TED in Machine Technology course if applicants meet the entry requirements. back to top


2.	What is the training system for the TED course?
	ITE's full-time courses are conducted on a Semester-Based Credit System of Training (SCT). This system of training offers flexibility, choice and diversity in learning. In SCT, a course of study is structured into a series of modules and credits are assigned to each module. Assessment of module is on a term basis, and once students have passed the module assessment, the achievement is credited to them. When students have accumulated the required number of credits in modules relevant to the course of study within the defined period, they are deemed to have met the requirements of the course for graduation and will be awarded the full certificate. back to top


3.	For the TED course, what certification will graduates receive?
	Graduates will receive the Technical Engineer Diploma (TED) in Machine Technology awarded by the Ministry of Education, Youth & Sports (MEYS), Baden-Wurttemberg; similar to the one given out in Germany. The top 5% of graduates with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above and passed all modules at the first attempt, will be awarded Diploma with Merit. ITE and MEYS will also issue a joint transcript to all graduates, reflecting the grades obtained in the course. back to top


4.	What are the career prospects of TED graduates?
	Technical Engineer Diploma in Machine Technology graduates are sought after by industrial automation equipment makers and machine tool manufacturers in the high-growth machinery and systems cluster. back to top


5.	What are the progression opportunities for TED graduates?
