What is the Fast Track Programme?
What is the rationale for implementing the Fast Track Programme?
With increasing globalisation, rapid changes in technology, economic restructuring and shift to high-tech industries, ITE graduates, along with other working adults, will have to continually learn and relearn in order to stay relevant and employable in the job market.
The Fast Track Programme provides an avenue for employers to upgrade or update their skills in as short a time as possible and enhance their employability.
What are the main features of the Fast Track Programme?
It is a programme with a range of training schedules to meet varying needs of employers and course participants. The training and certification are by modules as in existing part-time courses for greater flexibility.
Who will benefit from the Fast Track Programme?
The Fast Track Programme will benefit companies who want to upgrade the skills of their workers quickly.
A working adult takes an average of 3 to 4 years to complete a part-time Nitec course. How long will I take to complete the same course under the Fast Track Course?
Will I be able to achieve the full Nitec certificate in less than one and a half years?
Under the Fast-track scheme, will I be able to achieve the full Nitec certificate in less than one and a half years?
Nitec courses are offered in modules. Each module is self-contained and leads to an employable skill. In the same way, the Fast Track Course allows individuals the flexibility to apply for the individual modules according to their learning needs. The Fast Track Course also offers the opportunity to complete all modules in the shortest possible time for a full certificate. However, a module may be withdrawn where there are insufficient applicants. In such instances, applicants may consider applying for the regular part-time Nitec course in the next intake.
I am currently attending a Nitec module under the part-time course in ITE. Can I undertake subsequent modules offered under the Fast Track Courses and vice versa?
How do companies obtain more information on sending their workers for training in the Fast Track Programme?
Employers who are interested to upgrade their workers are requested to email itp@ite.edu.sg.
