1.
Can I depart Singapore and re-enter again to obtain another visit pass so that I can stay for a longer time in Singapore?
All visitors who wish to extend their stay in Singapore should make an application at Visitor Services Centre, 4th Storey, ICA Building.
2.
I am a Singapore permanent resident, I have applied for a new passport, but my re-entry permit is still endorsed on my expired/cancelled passport. Will I be allowed in as a permanent resident?
As long as the re-entry permit is still valid, you will be cleared as a Singapore permanent resident. You should then bring both your old and new passports to the Permanent Resident Services Centre, 5th Storey, ICA Building, to transfer the re-entry permit endorsement from the old passport to the new one. Otherwise, you will be inconvenienced every time you travel in and out of Singapore.
3.
I am a Singapore permanent resident. My re-entry permit has expired. Can I still enter Singapore as a permanent resident?
You will be treated as a normal visitor if your re-entry permit has expired. You will be granted a social visit pass if you meet the entry requirements.
4.
Do I need to apply for a new Access Card after getting Singapore Citizenship or Singapore Permanent Residence?
Yes. Foreigners holding long term passes are required to apply for a new Access Card after they have become Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents. This is because some of the information on the Access Card has become invalid. A new application and a fee of S$30 are required.
5.
What is the validity period of the Access Card?
The Access Card is issued for a maximum of 3 years, subjected to the validity of the applicant’s passport, Singapore re-entry permit or immigration pass.
