What are the procedures if I intend to bring cigarettes for my personal consumption when I visit Singapore?

The import of cigarettes is subject to payment of duty and GST even if it is meant for personal consumption. If the quantity exceeds 0.4 kilogrammes, you are required to arrange with a local freight forwarding agent to declare a Customs Duty Payment permit to pay the duty and GST for the cigarettes on your behalf. Do I have to pay GST if I bring some gifts for my friends in Singapore?
|

Yes. Upon arrival and after immigration clearance, please proceed to the Customs Red Channel to declare the goods to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officer or proceed directly to Customs Duty Office at the Checkpoint for payment of GST. Payment can be made via Cash, NETS, Credit Cards and Cash Cards. It would be helpful if you could provide the invoices or receipts.

Can I bring medicine prescribed for my medical conditions and food items when I travel to Singapore?
|

As the import of medicine and food are subject to import control by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) and Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) respectively, you would need to check with HSA and AVA on their requirements. What are the procedures if bring a few bottles of liquors for personal consumption when I visit Singapore?

If the quantity in excess of Duty-free Concessions exceeds 10 litres, you are required to arrange with a local freight forwarding agent to declare a Customs Duty Payment permit to pay the duty and GST for the liquors on your behalf.
