What are the AVA's requirements for import, export and transhipment of fish and fish products?

I am a licensed meat importer. I want to import fish products in future. Do I have to apply a separate licence?
No, you do not need to. Your current licence with AVA for importing meat products allows you to import fish products such as live lobsters, scallops and dried anchovies as well.

My consignment of frozen prawns has just arrived but I was not aware that an AVA licence is required. I need a licence urgently. Where can I get the licence?
Licence for Import/Export and Transshipment of Meat Products and Fish Products including frozen prawns may be applied for at
www.business.gov.sg
. You may also make use of the self-service computer terminal at AVA's office at 5 Maxwell Road MND Complex Tower Block #02-03 Singapore 069110 to make online applications. The licence will be issued the next working day. For urgent licence applications, an Express Service is available at a surcharge equal to the licence fee.

I was told to get the Notification of Registration for the purpose of applying for the licence to import meat and fish products. Where do I get these documents?
You are required to register your Unique Entity Number (UEN) and activate your account with the Singapore Customs through the TradeXchange portal (
https://www.tradeXchange.gov.sg
). Upon approval, you will be issued the Notice of Registration from the Singapore Customs. For further enquiries, you may contact the Singapore Customs's office at 1800-3552000.

Do I require a business profile from Accounting and Regulatory Authority when applying for the meat and fish licence at www.business.gov.sg?
No, you do not need to do so. The information can be extracted from ACRA when you are using the Online Business Licensing Service.

On the Interbank GIRO form, what should I fill in under the section "Billing Organisation's Customer's Name" or "Billing Organisation's Customer's Reference Number"?
"Billing Organisation Customer's Name" refers to the name of the company applying for the licence, regardless of the bank account name used. "Billing Organisation's Customer Reference Number" refers to the company's Unique Entity Number (UEN) used.

What is the mode of payment for fees for the AVA licence to import, export and transship meat and fish products?
If payment for licence fee is to be made over the AVA's counter at Maxwell Road, it can be made via NETS , cash card or cheque. Cheques should be made payable to "AVA". Payment of licence fee for online application can be done through e-payment (eNETS, eCREDIT or Flexipay). Payment for renewals of licence are via GIRO.
9.
I need to make a declaration for fish product arriving on Sunday morning. It can only be declared on Saturday morning. Air waybill only arrives on Saturday. Should I carry on in doing so?
You are advised to make your permit application during office hours as all online TradeNet declarations and enquiries would only be processed during these hours. The Import and Export Division office at Maxwell Road operates at the following hours:
Monday to Thursday : 8.30 am to 1.00 pm
2.00 pm to 6.00 pm
Friday : 8.30am to 1.00pm
2.00pm to 5.30pm
Sat, Sun and Public Holidays : Closed
