What are the AVA's requirements for import, export and transshipment of meat and meat products?

I am a licensed fish importer. I want to import meat products from overseas in future. Do I have to apply a separate licence?
No, you do not need to. Your current licence with AVA for importing fish products, such as seabass and clams, also allows you to import meat products, such as beef and game meat. However, please ensure that the meat and meat products are from AVA approved countries and establishments. You can find the list of accredited overseas establishments

I want to import processed poultry from Australia but I do not know whether my supplier in Australia is approved by AVA. How can I find this out?

. Alternatively, you may also contact our officers at the following numbers: 63257624 / 6325 7683 / 6325 7313 to confirm whether your supplier/exporter is among the list of exporters approved by AVA. Please provide us with the establishment code or number and address of the exporting establishment for verification.

I would like to import meat from new sources. How do the establishments go about to apply for AVA approval?

I was told to get the Notification of Registration for the purpose of applying for the licence to import meat and fish products. Where do I get these documents?
You are required to register your Unique Entity Number (UEN) and activate your account with the Singapore Customs through the TradeXhange portal (
https://www.tradeXchange.gov.sg
). Upon approval, you will be issued the Notification of Registration from the Singapore Customs. For further enquiries, you may contact Singapore Customs at Tel: 1800-3552000.

Do I need to get a printout of business profile from Accounting and Regulatory Authority (ACRA) when applying for the meat and fish licence at
www.business.gov.sg
?
No, you do not need to do so. This information can be extracted from ACRA when you are using the Online Business Licensing Service.
7.
What is the mode of payment for fees for the AVA licence to import, export and transship meat and fish products?
If payment for licence fee is to be made over the AVA's counter at Maxwell Road, it can be made via NETS , cash card or cheque. Cheques should be made payable to "AVA". Payment of licence fee for online application can be done through e-payment (eNETS, eCREDIT or Flexipay). Payment for renewals of licence are via GIRO.
8.
On the Interbank GIRO form, what should I fill in under the section " Billing Organisation's Customer's Name" or "Billing Organisation's Customer's Reference Number"?
"Billing Organisation Customer's Name" refers to the name of the company applying for the licence, regardless of the bank account name used. "Billing Organisation's Customer Reference Number" refers to the company's Unique Entity Number (UEN) used.
