Scenario 1: StarHub TV or Singtel TV Subscription
If your TV set is connected to StarHub TV or Singtel TV service, you need not do anything as you are already enjoying digital TV. Scenario 2: Convert existing TV with a digital set-top box and an indoor antenna
Existing TV sets can still be used. If your TV set is NOT connected to StarHub TV or Singtel TV service, you will need to buy a digital set-top box and an indoor UHF antenna. Just connect them to the existing TV set to watch digital TV channels.
Scenario 3: Upgrade to TV with built-in DVB-T2 digital tuner and get an indoor antenna
Alternatively, you can consider buying TV sets with built-in DVB-T2 digital tuners (Integrated Digital TV or IDTV). Just connect the IDTV to an indoor UHF antenna to watch digital TV channels.
For scenarios 2 and 3, if you are living in a landed property with an existing rooftop UHF antenna. Just connect the antenna directly to the digital set-top box or IDTV.
The digital TV network is being rolled out progressively across different parts of Singapore to enable all residential homes to receive digital TV signals using indoor antennae. You can find out if your estate is ready to receive digital TV signals via the estate rollout map on MediaCorp’s website - www.mediacorp.sg/digitaltv. Once the estate is ready, do look out for DTV information posters that will be put up around the estate.
