Why does the government retain existing ACRA Registration Numbers as UEN for businesses and local companies?
To minimise adoption costs and disruptions, the ACRA Registration Number is retained as the UEN for these two entity types as they comprise more than 85% of all entities registered in Singapore.

What is Unique Entity Number (UEN) and which MOH-related can obtain one?
UEN is a standard identification number for licensed healthcare institutions to interact with government agencies.
Healthcare institutions refer to Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Medical Clinics (including Dental Clinics), Clinical and Xray Laboratories that are licensed under the Private Hospitals & Medical Clinics (PHMC) Act & Regulations.

Will my UEN be changed when I renew my PHMC licence?
No, the PHMC licence number is a serialised certificate number, and is not the same as your UEN.
